Am/Can Ch. Kinsha’s Flower of the Field, AM/Can OD |
We brought Poppy home in the 1980’s at 7 weeks and our lives were to be changed forever.
Poppy was to become our foundation. Every dog we have or breed currently goes back to Poppy.
Poppy finished easily at 18 months novice, owner handled with 4 majors. That was quite a turnaround from what we were used to. Although she never was BOB at a specialty, she had multiple BOSS, including the Canadian National. Poppy was a group placing bitch in Canada and the US. We didn’t even know there was such a thing as SDHF at that time. We didn’t have anyone showing us the way, we just asked a lot of questions and bumbled on through.
At Various National Specialties, Poppy Won:
1st 8-10 class
Best In Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes
1st 10-12 class
1st 12 and over class
Poppy moved on 5 weeks before her 15th birthday and did not die of cancer. She tweeked her spine running up the cobblestone walkway and couldn’t recover from the rear end paralysis. We made the tough decision to help her move on with dignity. A sad day, but she left us with so many memories and taught us more than we knew at that time.
